NACHZUSTAND (AFTERSTATE) explores the traces of time embedded in material. Beginning with existing works, each painting is transformed through reworking into a new pictorial space where layers, rust and glazes connect past and present. The works exist between memory and transformation. Earlier states remain visible as fragments and become part of a new material order. Cracks, oxidation and condensed surfaces reveal processes that continue beyond the visible image. Throughout the series, the original motif gradually recedes. The paintings move away from their initial appearance and focus on the aftermath itself — on what time, material and memory permanently leave behind within the surface.
